Alice Korngold is President & CEO of Korngold Consulting LLC www.korngoldconsulting.com based in New York City.

Korngold consults to corporations, training and placing executives on nonprofit boards to facilitate leadership development as a core element of corporate social responsibility. Korngold consults to boards of directors of nonprofits and foundations to elevate organizations to higher levels of strategic and financial achievement in serving global, national, and regional communities.

She is the author of “LEVERAGING GOOD WILL: Strengthening Nonprofits by Engaging Businesses” (Jossey-Bass, a Wiley Imprint, 2005).

She authored “Bespoke Boards: Find the Nonprofit That Fits” in Directors & Boards, fourth quarter 2007, “Amassing Your Governance Capital” in Directors & Boards, third quarter 2007, and “Developing Visionary Leaders,” in Leader to Leader (founded as the Peter Drucker Foundation), in April 2006.

Korngold guest lectures at New York University, Columbia Business School, the Tuck School at Dartmouth, and addressed faculty, alumni and students of Harvard Business School in January 2007. With support from the Carnegie Corporation and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, Korngold has assisted business and civic leaders around the nation in establishing innovative board training, placement, and consulting programs.

Korngold was the founding President and CEO of Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU) from 1993 to 2005. BVU is the nation’s most successful program for training and placing business professionals and executives on nonprofit boards of directors. Under Korngold’s leadership, BVU trained and placed over 1,000 business executives on over 275 nonprofit boards of directors; and coached more than half of the candidates into board leadership positions. She developed BVU’s entrepreneurial and financially self-sustaining business model, and assisted other cities in replicating the model. Korngold’s work at BVU was featured in a page one article of The Wall Street Journal, and in the New York Times and The Chronicle of Philanthropy.

She received a B.A. cum laude and an M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Korngold has served on numerous nonprofit boards. She currently serves on the board of Row New York.
