these poor souls surfing digg day-after-day only have one head to think with and it's not above their shoulders. sadly, i have met many of these in my lifetime, and they're not worth anyone's time and energy. if these types were in my phone address book, i would list them as 'do not answer'.

Comment on Node ant

Allen Knoll writes:

I believe that I would ask him for 10 people who could work on "Community Transportations System's Packages" that would ultimately help populations around the world. As the book "Bowling Alone" suggests we need to get out of our universally imposed shells and be a community ready to shovel our neighbor out of the snow for a cup of coffee and some chatting.

This question is from Robert Mochwart:

Since Bill has be called one of the top 5 most "feared persons on Wall Street" per an Investopedia article, as a result of amassing a huge war chest, what does Bill see as being the ideal investments over the course of the next 1, 3 5 and 10 years? Micorsoft could be an investment bank unto itself - how will they spend the money other than over paying for Yahoo at anything over $30/share

This is the company that will routinely open stores in and around small towns across America, obliterates all the small businesses around it by selling items for extremely low prices and when there is an inkling of a union, the store will shut down rather than risk the workers being unionized. This leaves the small towns with a small business community that is no longer existent, with no Walmart, unemployment and economic depression. Wal-Mart: The High Price of Low Cost documentary says it all.

Fast Talk Response -

No, the biggest reasons people buy on the Internet is for convenience, and lower price in general. I don't think the lack of sales tax on items is a big reason people shop online instead of in stores.

Fast Talk Response -

Three things:

1. Not enough choice of [trashy] programs online as there is with cable. Perhaps also lack of teasers which would otherwise lure viewers to shows online.

2. We are too lazy to search for shows. Once programs are all accessible with one touch online, as they are with the tv remote, people may be more likely to turn to online television rather than traditional cable.

Bill, software programmers and web coders have so many problems coding websites just to be compatible with Internet Explorer browsers, including the newest versions. Do you have any suggestions as to possible solutions to the compatibility issue? Would you consider building the next version of Internet Explorer to web standards like Firefox?

Ok, so it's great that I can watch cool and educational TED videos about the mechanics of a stroke, but common! YouTube is much more just a vehicle for regular people to put stupid videos online, and for the rest of us to waste time at work watching them for a quick laugh. If this is the most valuable TV station on the planet, I really have to get off this planet.
