sure doesn't improve the quality of my life and I sell this stuff. I find that I have to stop and pull over constantly because well I am in touch. Considering I work between two offices it is didn't you get the email and why didn't you respond. I think that Mr. Johnson car idea would be a big help on improving work ability, but having to text the wife to say you love her really doesn't cut it.

It's more than I want or need. For several years I was hooked on having the latest communications toys.

I found them to be a huge intrusion of getting real work done. The interruptions from email, voice mail, IM, and text all detract from keeping focused on the important tasks and projects.

I found it was better to manage those interruption instead of letting them manage me.

Do you know how hard it is to find just a phone?

Both! I work incessantly and time "away from the computer" is no longer safe. "Crackberry" is a name well deserved!

Interestingly, I'm between jobs and have been for nearly six months. I no longer carry a pager, my cell phone only rings when the family calls, and I only spend a few hours a day on my PC. I don't have a PDA or anything closely related to it, although I'd realy like a Dick Tracy watch when they come out on the market.

Instant communication or gratification has been replaced by long walks on the beach, sitting by my pool reading classic literature, and sipping Iced Tea. For me, the ability to improve my ability to work isn't limited to technology but I have to admit, the quality of life has significantly improved without these tools. I may even change careers and return to the Hi-Touch world from whence I once hailed.

My mobile device saves me! Without it, I am not sure I'd have the same quality of life! Now, I keep a cell phone handy as well, so work is not ALWAYS at my fingertips. That said, I need a new, upgraded mobile device, so I can be more effient with it's functionality.
